Design, develop and deliver training based on research-driven educational principles.
Training content
Train the Trainer offers guidance, ideas and tips for designing, developing and delivering training, all based on research-driven educational principles. The course is for anyone who is interested in becoming a trainer or instructor, or in improving their training skills.
The course is highly interactive: participants actively contribute to all sessions. It is given by the SciLifeLab Training Hub, and based on the materials of the ELIXIR-GOBLET Train-the-Trainer community.
Learning outcomes
- Name learning principles that a good teacher or instructor should have in mind
- Describe at least three training techniques, drawing on learning principles
- Design a training session and a course
- Develop assessment questionnaires
- Enumerate types of materials needed for each part of a training session or course
- Describe strategies to promote engagement amongst learners
